Workers’ compensation case due to workplace fall, in Los Angeles, California: On December 12, a construction worker injured his hip, back, and foot when a ladder he was using swayed, causing him to fall 6 feet. He reported the work accident and was taken to the emergency room, but his employer refused to cover treatment through the insurer.
Workers’ compensation due to health problems from repetitive work: After packing and tagging clothing for six months at work, an employee developed carpal tunnel syndrome. She reported her symptoms and was sent to the insurance doctor, where she discovered that she needed surgery on her hands to be able to recover.
