Traffic Accidents
Car accidents are one of the most common causes of injury and death in the United States. According to the National Security Council, it’s estimated that 2015 was one of the years with the most fatalities since 2007. During just the first half of that year, car accidents resulted in 19,000 fatalities, and more than 2.2 million injuries.
The cost of these accidents is extremely high, and many people are not fortunate to have insurance to cover the expenses involved. During the first six months alone of 2015, the cost of deaths, injuries, and property damage was 2 million dollars. In addition to medical expenses and property damage, this cost also includes reduction in wages and productivity, administrative costs, and costs to employers.
Per the U.S. traffic code, all drivers must carry an insurance policy that covers any damages and injuries to a third party for which they may be responsible. In addition, anyone involved in a car accident must stay at the scene to give information.
If you are wounded or have any type of injury or accident, and the person at fault for the accident tests positive for an illegal blood alcohol level, you will be compensated for damages and/or harm you may have suffered, paid for by the person responsible for the infraction. In the United States alone it was shown that 57% of the drivers who died in an accident had consumed alcohol. Most of these drivers were under 35 years old.
Car Accidents
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than two million people each year are reported injured as a result of car accidents.
Motorcycle Accidents
This is one of the most fatal types of accidents in the United States because of drivers’ carelessness and motorcyclists’ failure to use protective equipment.
Bicycle Accidents
Although it may seem that bicycle accidents are very scarce, nearly 48,000 bicycle accidents are reported each year–the main cause being the lack of precautions taken by automobile drivers.
Pedestrian Accidents
Every day in the United States, over 100 people are injured by being hit or being involved in some other accident while walking.
Commercial Vehicle or Trailer Accidents
A large number of accidents are due to trailer and commercial vehicle accidents. Many of these accidents are related to driver fatigue or caused by an animal.
Alcohol-Related Car Accidents
These are the greatest cause of car accidents in the United States, and unfortunately most of them turn out to be fatal.
Public Transportation Accidents
Whether they are passengers in these vehicles or drivers that have an accident.
